Meticulous Owl

The Exalted first edition Autochthonians book says that Meticulous Owl is a Day Caste serving First and Forsaken Lion. In 2nd edition Exalted, specifically in the Scroll of Exalts, he is given another name, and designated as a Moonshadow Caste Abyssal.

An alternate idea that I have for him is:

What if Meticulous Owl IS a Day Caste serving First and Forsaken Lion? What if Endless-Faced Spite is a Moonshadow Caste nominally serving First and Forsaken Lion and his mentor, the Ebon Dragon? What if Endless-Faced Spite took the place of Meticulous Owl, and no one (except perhaps the Ebon Dragon) is the wiser?

That is the basic idea.

The expansion of it is: What if Meticulous Owl is still skulking around? What if he survived the assassination attempt of Endless-Faced Spite in some manner which left his would-be killer thinking that he perished? Perhaps he fell off of a cliff? Perhaps he was poisoned, but made it? Whatever the case, what if he is still out there, trying to figure out what Endless-Faced Spite is doing, trying to figure out how to unravel his rival's plans to betray the First and Forsaken Lion?
