Yellow Heron Dominion

A small nation which is part of the Hundred Kingdoms, and which lies on the great river there. It is best known because its ruler held a First Age weapon he often used to bully passing vessels into paying tribute. Wisely, he always avoiding attacking Realm, Lookshy or Guild vessels, but virtually everyone else was fair game.

The Yellow Heron is a god-blooded character, descended from the thunderbird spirit, Thunder on the Water. His entire line bears different degrees of the god's blood, with their daughters often being coerced into relations with the spirit to keep it satisfied and to strengthen the magical heritage of the family.

In the Realm Year of 769, the Far Shores Dragon-Blooded characters convinced the Yellow Heron to "loan" his First Age weapon to them to use in their war efforts against the Bull of the North. He only agreed to do so if they had the thunderbird god, Thunder on the Water, accompany them to watch out for its device. The First Age weapon is a lightning ballista powered by the thunderbird and a yasal crystal. The brotherhood swore to return the device to the Yellow Heron Dominion.
