This entry currently consists of Conrad's note about how to deal with the transformation of Ejava into Second Edition rules.

General Tepet Ejava is a canonical character detailed in Aspect Book: Wood, which is a 1st edition title. As copyrighted material, we won't be repeating that here, and will only be discussing changes and notes related to her appearance in our Exalted game chronicles.

Certainly I feel that in Exalted Second Edition, Ejava should have War 5. I would argue that her Favored Ability of Bureaucracy should be changed to War. She can keep her Bureaucracy skill, but War is a better choice as the Favored Ability.

The question of what specialties to give her in War remains. She is described (in the Air Aspect book I believe) as being the best "all around" commander, yet being exceeded by other commanders at various specific aspects of war. Thus it feels wise to leave room for others to exceed her using specialties she doesn't have. I might argue for (+1 Vermilion Legion) as her sole specialty, with the "all around" reputation for being an awesome general being partly the fact that she is very good at Bureaucracy, Performance and Presence, all skills which complement war. "All around good," or something like that just seems particularly inappropriate for a specialty. Arguably, if you wanted to give her more than one specialty, then you might go with: (+1 Vermilion Legion), (+1 scouts), and (+1 against pirates), but that might be unnecessarily too many.

Personally, I would like to see her Martial Arts raise to 3, with her gaining the Five Dragon Fortitude Charm. Also, Confluence of Savant Thought would be an interesting thing to consider adding to her list, thereby allowing her greater use of her high Bureaucracy skill. My only fear is whether this might make her too bureaucratic.
