Versus Ebon

Ebon had ordered the Unconquered Dawn anchored in a rocky inlet covered on three sides by sheer cliff an arrow shot more than a mile from the docks of Irontooth. Several weeks had passed since Sheevan and Togerie had gone into Seclusion (the term designated by the Ministry to prevent people form thing they had been abandoned), and Siaka had only become more daring in her attacks. Her thirst for bigger and better would prove an exploitable weakness.

Recent storms, courtesy the local elemental courts and storm mothers, had "tragically" knocked over the enchanted iron gates which had been protecting the remaining Wyldbreakers from the rest of the ocean. Temporary wooden gates had been erected until Oarman could properly repair the old ones; these were insufficient to stop a craft of the power of Siaka's. What would stop her, however, would be the hidden trebuchets and heavy onagers manned by Ebon's specially trained Tiger Warriors. She had taken to striking ships from beyond their range, but due to the structure of the harbor, she would have to come within its boarders (and thus the artillery range) to strike at these targets.

Person of the Air, Haosa hovered above the cliffs which hid Ebon and his ship. A speck in the sky, he had the best view and would serve as the messenger when the attack began. He, like the scouts, had been equipped with a large polished shield to reflect even trace amounts of light down to the ship to send simple bits of information.

"Captin, err Admiral! Hoasa signals that the forward relays have spotted Siaka on an attack course to Iron Tooth."

A few moments later...

"Admiral, she has breeched and disappeared. The patrols fired arrows and they failed."

...

"She has appeared. Artillery has hit. She is in retreat. She is moving East."

Ebon signals for Hoasa to descend and they leave their hiding spot to pursue.
