"Have you ever wondered what it would be like to have been there?"

Those words were uttered a lifetime ago for Myar, before his Second Breath. At the age of twelve he was seated with his extended family when Tirkit spoke these words to him. He was recounting the victories of various Sesus and their Cynis allies to the young Dynast in an attempt to spark an emotion to trigger Exaltation. This particular story was about Negezzar's last battle when he was stuck low by a powerful, renegade spirit.

Now, in the Imperial Palace, Myar found himself wondering if he would be kept as some bizarre trophy of this Fae. Would be be preserved as some strange phantom, a warning of the new Empress's might? He distanced those thoughts. He was not Sesus Denerid Myar right now, but Tepet Berel Desan. The real Desan was someplace else in this fortress palace, taking a strong position to strike at this creature and reveal her.

Myar wandered through the corridors, innocuous. His goal was to be seen by only the right people, in the right places, and at the right times to keep the guard from looking for the real Desan, the real assassin. Myar hoped his friend would succeed, and, by chance, survive. Once this was over the Tepet would find himself with a new identity in Greyfalls. He would be Myar's first agent. Finally, the Imperial Clock chimed 10 AM. The Empress's court had already formed and she would soon take her throne. In the throne room there were a hundred of the Legion of Silence, fifty Dragon-Blooded politicians, and nearly five times as many servants, patricians, suitors and other hangers on. They were all to witness.

He stepped into the central room as Desan throw the first needles. The mortals were thrown around as the guard took a defensive position around the Empress. People were screaming, shouting, crying. Amid the voices and clamor Myar head someone shout "We killed the assassins!", "They were trying to kill them Empress", and finally, "Wait! He's over there now " as two Exalts turned and began advancing on Myar. He ran, leaving in his previous place two things. The first was a shock wave of Essence obscuring his path and his person. The second was a single lily blossom.

Several hours later he met Belagra in one of the safe rooms Tirkit and Negazzar had arranged.

"The mission was successful. The Tepet are in." he said. "However, once they begin to piece things together we may have bigger troubles on our hands. Also, Vengeance In Scarlet Regalia now has access to several powerful artifacts which she didn't before. "

Myar stood silent. The adrenaline was wearing off, and filling its place was that sweet feeling of dread. He hadn't heard his cell leader talking, he could barley see him at this point. It was only after he vomited that things started to clear up.

Once Myar composed himself, Belagra continued. "Why did you want to frame Death Blossom?"

Myar smirked, it was a nice plan. "Because, it is one more thing that Vengeance has to know about. The less she acts like the Empress, the more people will wonder. Once enough threads have been tugged at, her illusion will fall apart."

"It may work, it may not. Everything is ready for your return. The witnesses have been placed into protection, and you should get out of here soon."

Myar nodded. As the seal on the door broke, a small essence charged warning escaped his lips to Tirkit, "Have you ever wondered what it would be like to have been there?" If he was lucky, his uncle would take the warning and escape.
