Oscina

Oscina, Lunar mate to Togire Oarman is an attractive woman of average height with lunar symbols scribed across her skin/feathers/scales no matter what form she takes. She says that other Lunars told her the moonsilver letters protect her from the Wyld. Oscina was introduced to our circle when Magnus and Togire freed her from an unfortunate series of events involving the Guild slavers who had captured her family. After sneaking on board their ship to seek revenge, she was outed before she could find justice and escaped from capture only to be ensared by more devious foes. After fleeing in bird form from the slaver ship to a nearby island, owned by the opalescent fairfolk and within the Wyld, she unknowingly fell prey to the pearl substance they use and was completely sealed unconscious within. Upon awakening she would find her new home for the next two years to be a small pearl birdcage. Then, used as bait to goad the island of the sun to side with the island of rust people against pearl, Magnus recovered her before she was discarded to the sea (see previous entries).

As of yet, little is known about Oscina in game. She has been seen to change into one of the slaver men, a nightingale, and a fish, and has confirmed to the PCs that she can do so by eating the heartsblood of whatever animal or being she wishes to mimic. However, she also confessed to Togire that her nightingale form is her totem form. Togire did not completely understand the implications and chalked it up as slightly more important than "her favorite animal to take shape".

Oscina seems kind and calm, if not for the Lunar quirks most are unused to, and is rarely agitated by the cat calls from the pirates around her nor the bizarre claims Magnus has made about a Lunar's responsibilities to his/her solar. However, this does not mean she sits quietly and lets such comments continue. Much of her time has been spent alone away from the rest of the crew and even the Solars around her, with only a few emotional moments shared with her new companions.

Because of this, Togire set up a place for Oscina to stay which he plans to make use of as a refuge for people who have gone through troubles mortals shouldn't have to contend with, and currently she is resting there. Togire took extra care to make the area suit her feelings and needs, creating a forested mountainous area availing to a nightingale's needs, and he currently hopes that with enough time, Oscina will be able to find a life after her family's tragedy and open up to others around her.

As a love interest, Oscina and Togire have already felt an attraction to each other in game because of their connected essences and shared history together in past lives. Because of this, Oscina has already formed timid excuses in game to show affection towards Togire and he is smitten with her beauty and voice, even though he has not yet heard it. Togire is seriously crushing on her out of the connections he has felt and because she seems intent on listening to what he has to say. Mostly, Togire is a mix of emotions struggling between two main forces, the side that believes any affection or admiration she shows towards him must be from this whole "Lunar mate" requirement that Magnus keeps informing him about, and the Solar within who continues to grow more confident and is gradually changing Togire's preconceptions of himself enforced by layers of pity, hatred, and avoidance as a deaf beggar and peasant before he exalted. While a Solar Exalted Essence is a great thing indeed, years of self-doubt and inferiority has formed a residual complex for Togire in most of his work, and coincidentally, proof of acceptance as a peer and love from the opposite sex, not for what he has become, but for who he is, would allow him to accept his new role as a child of the sun more readily and don the outward garments of character that would reflect the change within. While time is the best nutrient for Togire's self worth, a perspective example of the other Lunar mates reacting towards their solars would definitely help him understand the situation he is in.

Notes

Oscina did not learn Old Realm until Ascending Wood of Realm Year 768.

We have established Trembling Whiskers as Oscina's savior/tutor figure before she continued her quest for revenge which inevitably led her to the west.
