Vermilion Legion
Personally I like the double-L spelling, but apparently a single L is standard American English.
Anyway, the Vermilion Legion is a canonical body discussed originally in the 1st edition Exalted main rulebook and in other sources since then. It is given its largest writeup, so far, in the Blessed Isle book. As its writeups are copyrighted, we will not be repeating them here. However, we will discuss ideas and changes relevant to their participation in the original creations of the Far Shores and Hundred Kingdoms series.

As of Realm Year 769, the Vermilion Legion is busy freeing the Linowan from domination by the Bull of the North and the kingdom of Halta, under the leadership of General Tepet Ejava.
Cathak Anano was left in charge of the bulk of the Legion during a special operation featuring the Far Shores player characters, Tepet Ejava and ex-General Tepet Arada. That operation destroyed the Invisible Fortress, which had become a major base of operations for the Bull. This occurred while the Bull was busy invading Greyfalls, though he swiftly returned to the Linowan arena. Using a lightning ballista they had requisitioned from the Yellow Heron Dominion, the Dragon-Blooded managed to shoot the Bull's flying barge from the sky and force him to retreat from the area. His current whereabouts are unknown, however, as the pursuing force quickly lost his trail.
