February 2007
Friday, February 2nd, 2007 was the session where the Far Shores characters set about organizing the city of Greyfalls in the wake of freeing it from the Bull of the North's lieutenant, Red Hearth. These events continue the game time of Ascending Wood, Realm Year 769. Of greatest concern was the fact that Bagrash Kol's citadel seemed likely to explode as the Essence flows of the two Demesnes overloaded its twice-damaged structure. Ultimately, the Dragon-Blooded evacuated the city while awaiting the arrival of the peerless Manse architect Ledaal Chiska via Cynis Mond and his warbird. The night following the end of the evacuation, one of the two Kiriki-class skyships Lookshy has had stationed at the nearby redoubt since the Bull's invasion of Greyfalls flew over the city and deposited a scale of gunzosha warriors onto Garrison Heights. The Far Shores Dragon-Blooded characters who yet remained in the city intervened and Cathak Kiba bluffed the Air Aspected Lookshy commander who came down to talk to them into departing the field. Nonetheless, the gunzosha had approximately 30 minutes to steal materials from within Bagrash Kol's citadel while the Far Shores group ascended to the Garrison Heights from the noble's house where they had been staying and while they engaged the Lookshy commander in discussion. The Kiriki-class skyship retreated to the redoubt, convinced that the evacuation was some sort of military ploy or that the Realm meant to destroy the Manse in a massive blast.
Friday, February 9th, 2007 was a setting which moved from polishing up the situation in Greyfalls to settling into some downtime. The game began with the group continuing to deal with fallout from the evacuation of Greyfalls, including dispatching looters who refused to leave the city. After 4 days, Cynis Mond returned with Ledaal Chiska via his warbird. The two of them set to work on the flying citadel of Bagrash Kol. First Chiska put a set of capstones in place to help stabilize the Essence-leaking damaged structure. Then, the two summoned elementals to help them (with Mond focusing on air elementals of the wind courts and Chiska summoning earth elementals capable of Endowing her with Craft skill points and aiding in the work effort). Cathak Roka also summoned elementals to help them in their work. After two weeks of work, including the installation of work scaffolding and repair projects, plus a redirecting of the Essence of the structure into the "engines" which helped it fly previously, the structure was suddenly successfully moved overnight. In reality, this was due to the intereference of a Sidereal operative from the Heptagram using Neighborhood Relocation Scheme. Mond and Chiska had despaired of succeeding in time, before the structure self-detonated, so they asked for help. Now Bagrash Kol's flying citadel and its accompanying Demesne are upstream from and atop the Gray Falls, and Chiska has placed capstone upon the ruins of the Scintillating River Palace and its water-aspected Demesne. After helping Chiska and Mond garner necessary working materials, including a trip to Nexus via the Resplendent Dolphin piloted by Peleps Iruka, the Far Shores Dragon-Blooded decided to return to the Blessed Isle. They arrived on Replendent Wood the 14th, Realm Year 769, in Dragonsmouth. That evening they participated in the suburban port city's Festival of Sextes Jylis. Downtime set in subsequently, with Mnemon Aratama traveling to and climbing the Imperial Mountain for Essence training, and Tepet Berel Desan studying the art of brewing poison, and Cynis Nayuta studying the occult. This takes -FOUR MONTHS- time, some of which still needs to be worked out - after 4 months of downtime it will be Descending Fire 769, near the end of the year.
