November 10th
I was out of town November 10th for the Iceland trip involved with the CCP merger. My group only got to know "Conrad is going to a convention in Europe" - which was technically true as I was attending CCP's Eve Fanfest. They didn't know much more than the fans did until I got to post the official news release explaining why I was there. Our regular game did not happen this weekend.
November 17th
Friday, November 17th, 2006 was probably the last full session we will have this month, as we celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday the following Friday. December 1st is probably our next scheduled session, unless we manage to squeeze some game in before them.
Michael missed this session, so Conrad had to auto-pilot his character (Cathak Roka). As usual, we played the Far Shores Exalted chronicle.
The brotherhood of Dragon-Blooded played by the characters left the Linowan river where they fought the Haltan commandoes in the previous session. According to maps they had consulted, the mountain range in Linowa where the Bull of the North had apparently taken up part time residence was about 6 days due north of their position on the river.
The group overtook the icewalker unit led by Crimson Antler. While the icewalkers camped, the Dragon-Blooded crept up on the camp and tried to take it by surprise. Crimson Antler immediately woke due to her command of Awareness Charms. Despite this, she was slain along with the entire unit of icewalkers.
The 4th day of their travel, Descending Earth the 17th, Realm Year 769, V'neef Gavelin received a Wind-Carried Words message from Cynis Mond. Mond informed him that the Anathema witch had called upon her sorcerous pact with the northern Air Court, and was launching flying vessels via their power.
The 5th day of the Dragon-Blooded's northward travel, the Hundred Kingdoms circle of Solars, in league with the Bull of the North, destroyed the satraps palace in Greyfalls and seized the city. Word did not reach the brotherhood until early in the morning on the 6th day, but it only came to Winglord Gavelin, and he chose not to inform the rest of the group for fear of derailing their mission.
On the 6th day of travel, the group encountered the Linowan resistance leader, Faraka, V'neef Mahina, and Faraka's band of loyal rebels against the Bull's occupation. Faraka pointed the group to the Stone Maw (a mountain which originally appeared in the Time of Tumult scenario), and they used a combination of the small flying magitech device the group recently acquired along with Cathak Roka's summoned agata demon to reach its peak. Faraka pointed the group to the section of the Linowan mountain range where he and his scouts had repeatedly witnessed the flying vessels of the Bull emerge. The session ended with the group standing on the peak of the Stone Maw contemplating their approach against the Bull.
